Marius Watz’s work explores the integration of artificial intelligence programming into design. His kinetic images merge organic with geometric abstractions. The 2008 project involved an exhibition of Watz’s rapid prototypes, laser cut drawings, and projections. Watz conducted a processing workshop for design and studio students. Sixty-foot projections were presented for three nights on EJ Thomas Hall. A panel discussion between Marius Watz and Biologist Paco Moore explored the connections between the processes of evolution and design. Apple Computer and the research office at the University provided support for a party that celebrated the project.
